Note Delimiters are, by default, set to Tab. Select Comma, if the file is comma delimited. Click Finish. What is delimited? In most instances you are importing data maintained in a database. Either tab, comma or other delimiters (seperators) are used when file is exported (generated) to separate each data field in the database table. First Name separating Last Name, separating address, etc. |

Select (highlight) with mouse, the column headings and right click.
Select Format Cells in the popup menu. Use the various formatting tools (tabs) to create borders, work with font, change alignment, or distinguish number format. Number format will be required in many instances for date, time, currency, percentage, etc. NOTE: The import process will often drop leading zeros (000111 will be 111). Change the column/field to Text to retain the zeros in the Import Wizard. |
