A note from BetsyHappy New Year to all of you Delta Kappa Gamma Sisters! I know each of your received rich blessings during the holidays, I truly did. 2007 marks the beginning of an exciting year for our Psi Chapter. Our goals are many and I know without a doubt with your assistance we will meet our goals with success. As you read the following say to yourself “I’ll do that!” · Attend monthly meetings and Spring Banquet · Nominate a teacher for membership in Psi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma · Attend Epsilon State Convention in Monroe, LA ~ March 16-18th registration form on the state website. · Apply for a Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship see form and guidelines on the state website · Be ready to help with Central District Meeting which Psi Chapter will be hosting in the fall I’ll see you Thursday, February 22nd at the Pilot House for our first meeting in 2007. Our theme program will be “A Heart for Learning” presented by Kathryn Vaughn.

Please send your nominations for new members to Kathy Jackson at ZHS by February 12, 2007. The recommendation for membership form is here . There are many great candidates for this honor. To be considered for invitation to active membership, a woman educator must: 1. Have had professional preparation. 2. Have had three or more years of experience as a professional educator. 3. Be employed in educational work at the time of her election. 4. Be an educator who is employed or lives in the chapter area. 5. Demonstrate professional proficiency, with characteristics such as: a. Knowledge and skill in her area of educational work. b. Active participation in professional groups c. Interest in professional growth d. Willingness to participate in professional research and investigation. e. Willingness to assume leadership responsibilities 6. Be a contributing member of her community. |
